Itineraries 2023 Victory Cruise Line
Due to “unprecedented demand” for 2022 cruises, in mid-February 2021 AQSC and Victory Cruise Lines announced the brands’ 2023 ship deployment and itineraries. The season’s highlight is the introduction of the chartered ship Ocean Discoverer.
American Queen cruises on Lower Mississippi with scheduled for 2023 a total of 28 departures on itineraries between Memphis TN and NOLA-New Orleans. American Duchess cruises on Ohio River, with scheduled for 2023 a total of 6 itineraries between Louisville KY and Pittsburgh PA.
American Countess cruises on the Mississippi River and on Ohio-Cumberland-Tennessee rivers. American Empress cruises in the Pacific Northwest USA on 9-day itineraries between Portland OR and Spokane WA .
Ocean Discoverer’s inaugural cruise departs on May 12, 2023. The ship’s maiden voyage is planned as a repositioning cruise from Puerto Caldera to San Diego CA. The inaugural 2023 season is based on 11-12-day Alaskan itineraries Sitka AK–Vancouver BC and Sitka-Seattle.
Ocean Victory also cruises in Alaska during summer 2023 , with seasonal relocation cruises between Puerto Caldera-Puntarenas and San Diego.
The sistetrships Victory 1 and Victory 2 have scheduled for 2023 itineraries leaving from homeports Chicago, Toronto, Detroit, Montreal. The itinerary’s call ports include Marquette, Mackinaw Island, Sault-Ste Marie , Savannah, Charleston, Fernandina Beach FL. Victory 2 cruises also in the Western Caribbean with roundtrips out of Cozumel.

American Queen Victory Cruise Lines Rebrand As American Queen Voyages
The news was announced Tuesday at Seatrade Cruise Global.
The company includes American Queen Voyages River, American Queen Voyages Lakes & Ocean and American Queen Voyages Expedition with its new Alaska and Central America expedition experiences beginning in 2022.
Eight vessels in 2023
Founded 10 years ago, the company will have eight vessels in 2023.
Victory I and Victory II will be renamed Ocean Voyager and Ocean Navigator, which syncs with the new expedition vessels Ocean Victory and Ocean Discoverer .
New tagline ‘Discovery Runs Deep’
In addition, a new tagline, ‘Discovery Runs Deep,’ invites travelers to throw away the guidebook and go off the beaten path to discover North America’s unscripted experiences.
The tagline will feature in the website, a print and digital campaign, a reimagined loyalty program, on-board enrichment offerings and milestone moments.
‘Encounter travel’
‘Discovery Runs Deep’ highlights the ‘encounter travel’ American Queen Voyages offers interactions with people, experiencing local food, music, craftsmanship, nature as distinct from ‘iconic travel,’ for example, going to Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower, explained Kari Tarnowski, SVP marketing and sales. These experiences are available to small-ship travelers on the rivers, lakes, coasts and oceans.
Due to the pandemic, ‘people are taking a second look at what we offer because we are close to home,’ Tarnowski said. ‘You can fly or drive . It’s not as complicated .’

Itinerary Of American Queen Voyages
Note: Since 2021, the brand “American Queen Voyages” combines the old travel brands “American Queen Steamboat Company” and “Victory Cruise Lines” . Both companies are owned by Hornblower Group Inc via its subsidiary Hornblower Cruises and Events .
Memphis TN is an important homeport for the AQSC. American Queen docks there regularly – at the city attraction Beale Street Landing. In April 2014, a second riverboat joined the fleet after a major refurbishment. The line’s second ship formerly sailed under the name “Empress of the North” – another famous USA steamboat ship.

Sunstone Announces Sale Of Victory Cruise Lines
SunStone Ships has announced the sale of Victory Cruise Lines to American Queen Steamboat Company due to the rapid dominance of the Great Lakes cruise market.
It said that after expanding market share in the Great Lakes, French Canada and St Lawrence Seaway, Victory became the market leader in these regions. Having recently added Victory II, it afforded AQSC the opportunity to acquire the largest capacity in the region. SunStone Ships explained that AQSC will acquire Victory I and Victory II cruise vessels, the Victory brand, all Great Lakes charters, group bookings, individual passenger reservations and related assets.
SunStone Ships said it had been working on this sale for some time, with the transaction expected to close in January 2019.
AQSC has been operating river cruise ships in the US for several years with three vessels and one on order. AQSC primarily serves American passengers and operates its ships in the US. It has been looking for additional products to offer its passengers.

Review Of Ms Victory I
The 2001-built MS Victory I cruise ship was initially owned by the company Haimark Line . Haimark declared bankruptcy in the end of 2015. Currently, the ship is owned by Clipper Group and chartered to AQSC/American Queen Voyages under the name “MS Victory 1”. Launched in 2016, this new cruise brand operates itineraries on the Great Lakes during summer, and to Caribbean roundtrips from Florida .
From the same series is the fleetmate MS Victory 2 . Both were built in resemblance to the traditional US coastal steamboats of late-19th century. They both started operations on itineraries on the Great Lakes, Canadian Maritime, East Coast USA and Southern USA.
The vessel is currently Bahamas-flagged and registered in Nassau.
American Queen Steamboat Acquires Victory Cruise Lines
American Queen Steamboat Co. is acquiring two vessels the original Cape Cod Light and Cape May Light to expand its reach to the Great Lakes and maybe farther.
Terms of the deal for the Bahamas-flagged Victory I and Victory II marketed by Miami-based Victory Cruise Lines were not disclosed. The transaction which includes the Victory brand is expected to close in early January 2019, American Queen said Monday.
Victory will be a sister brand to American Queen, which has concentrated on the inland rivers and Pacific Northwest since 2012 when it and American Cruise Lines brought regular overnight cruising back to the countrys rivers. Itineraries for the new ships are expected to be announced in the next few months, a spokesman said. Victorys destinations include the Great Lakes, New England, Canada, Cuba and Mexico.
The 202-passenger ships enable us to provide guests with more diverse cruising options particularly in the Great Lakes, a region that our customers have been requesting for years, American Queen chairman John Waggoner said in a statement. Victory CEO Hans Lagerweij said Great Lakes bookings for next year are 35% ahead of 2018.
American Queen is reviewing the management team, the spokesman said.
In 2016 American Queen purchased the 2806x87x14 Iowa casino boat Bettendorf Capri and turned it into the 192-passenger, 314x100x14 riverboat American Duchess launched last year.

Two of the five biggest cruise companies specializing in small-ship voyages in U.S. waters are merging.
The parent company of American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines on Tuesday announced it would combine the two brands into a single cruise entity that offered a far wider mix of itineraries than either of the two brands have offered individually.
American Queen Steamboat Company until now only has operated U.S. river cruises with a fleet of four paddlewheelers. Victory Cruise Lines until now only has operated lake and ocean trips in North America with a fleet of two small ocean-going vessels.

In the wake of the merger, the company will be known as American Queen Voyages and offer an expanded mix of river, lake and ocean trips.
We will pull all under one company, one fleet, one brand and one experience, Shawn Bierdz, the executive who will serve as president of the combined company, said Tuesday at a press conference in Miami to announce the merger.
The press conference took place Tuesday afternoon at Seatrade Cruise Global, the cruise industrys annual meetup.
