Danube River Cruise Prices Are Inclusive

Danube River Cruise – Itinerary Highlights | Adventures by Disney

Unlike ocean cruises, river cruises often include many amenities: free Wi-Fi, shore excursions, wine and beer with meals, complimentary airport transfers, meals, lectures and entertainment.

Some people dont understand how good a value a river cruise is. And the overall quality of river cruise ships and the onboard experience has significantly increased in recent years, says Kaplan. My best advice is dont buy based on price alone. Price is very important to all of us, but dont let it be your only guideline.

Danube River Cruise Prices: How To Find A Good Deal

Take Me to the (Danube) River

A lot of first timers to river cruising pick the Danube because of its terrific medieval cities: Budapest, Vienna and Prague. Danube river cruise prices can also be more affordable.

Virtually every river cruise company has ships that sail the Danube, which stretches from Germanys Black Forest to the Black Sea. Avalon Waterways, notably, offers three-night cruises for the first timer who wants to sample the river with two nights each at hotels in Budapest and Vienna. Cruises on the river run up to 12 nights.

During peak season, an entry-level fare on the Danube costs about $475 per person, per night. And there are plenty of ways to cut that price further, according to Rick Kaplan, president of Premier River Cruises, a travel agency that sells river cruise vacations almost all of them to first timers.

Water Level On The Danube

We’re booked on a cruise along the Danube in 10 days time, and am wondering what the water levels are like after all the recent hot and dry weather. Does anyone know of a website where I can check this please?

48 replies to this topic

Yes. Cruise Critic. Find your specific cruise and sign up for Roll Call and you will have all the info about your cruise and meet other pax in advance to arrange possible excursions together. However, the word is not cheerful today, many rivers are low and coach-bus trips are replacing cruises in some locations today. Rainis not predicted either.

We’ve just returned from a Riviera cruise on the Danube from Budapest, towards Austria & back. On our final day Friday 22nd, we were told many operators had suspended service due to low river levels unfortunately. Our local tour guide in Budapest told us all her bookings had already been cancelled for the next week. We felt fortunate that we had completed our cruise without interruption. Hope things improve and those with cruises booked, get to enjoy these fantastic waterways. I don’t know where you can check for u p-to-date info, sorry.

My parents just returned at the end of last week from a 15 day Danube cruise starting in Budapest.

Unfortunately after 5 days aboard, the cruise could not continue as there was not enough water in the river to operate some of the many series of locks. They got taken off the ship and were flown home to the UK.
