I love booking cruises in September because its typically still warm and you can find rock bottom deals. Even though there is the threat of cruising during hurricane season, if you are flexible you will be fine. Your ship may have to change its itinerary because of an incoming storm, but pack your sense of adventure and you will still be glad you got such a great deal.
What Are The Least Expensive Months To Sail
If you want to sail for cheap, then we suggest looking at months like January, February, April, May, September and October. We find that rates during these months tend to be less expensive than for the same cruise if headed to the Caribbean. During these times fewer people are traveling, leading to generally lower cruise fare.
If headed to Alaska, then the months are more limited. The season runs largely from May through September. In this case the shoulder months of May and September offer the lowest prices.

This timeframe will fluctuate depending on the island location. Southern Caribbean islands, like Barbados, Aruba, Trinidad and Tobago, and Curacao rarely see hurricanes. So, while these months are considered the worst times to visit because of the hurricane potential, chances of experiencing one are extremely unlikely.
The low season months are also considered the worst time to visit because there may be limited opportunities for island experiences. Many hotels and resorts limit their staffing during the low tourist season, which means some restaurants may be closed and some tourist sites may have restricted hours.

Fall Cruises To The Caribbean
Hurricane season takes off in September and lasts until early November. If youre looking for a great special offer on a cruise, look for cruises during this time period.
The ABC islands are popular destinations with cruise vacationers during the fall, especially during the later part of hurricane season, since theyre outside of the Caribbean hurricane zone.
If you dont mind a little bit of unpredictability and tropical rain, the early fall season is also one of the best times to visit the rest of the Caribbean because of the cooler but still warm weather, small crowds, and low fares.
