Staterooms And Whats In Them
The TV in your stateroom offers limited live TV programming, but a pretty extensive selection of Disney-owned movie and TV content. There is the Disney Channel, ABC and ESPN, all owned by Disney, plus some 24-hour news channels and a small selection of basic cable channels. You can watch a huge variety of Disney movies and a few other family-friendly titles on demand .
Fire codes prevent cruise ships from having irons in staterooms, but irons are available for your use in the laundry rooms. Speaking of laundry, you can charge the cost of self-service laundry to your room key by swiping it through the readers on the washers and dryers.
Inside staterooms have no window . Inside staterooms on the Dream and Fantasy ships do have the virtual porthole that provides some light. It can be turned off with a switch by the bed. Bear in mind that on the Wonder, Magic and Wish , inside staterooms have no external light coming in to wake you up in the morning or give you a sense of what time it is. So if youre anxious to get up and go in the morning, make sure you set an alarm or request a wake-up call.
A portable hair dryer can be found in a bag in the bathroom or in a desk drawer . It must be plugged into a European outlet at the desk. If you happen to be in a stateroom that also has a built-in hair dryer in the bathroom attached to the wall, we recommend leaving it alone they dont work well. Use the one in the drawer.
Lunch At Cabanas Buffet
After the drill, we were ready for lunch, so we headed up to Deck 9 to check out the buffet at Cabanas.
Other options for lunch include the main dining rooms, which for us was Tianas Place, or there are quick service areas like Pinocchios Pizza or Daisys Delights where you can grab a sandwich or salad also on Deck 9.
And dont forget about my boys favorite cruise perk, unlimited ice cream cones!
Things To Do Before Or After A Cruise
The Port of San Diego is right downtown and within walking distance of many shops and sights. The U.S.S. Midway Museum takes you through a real aircraft carrier and is right next to the port. The lively and historic Gaslamp District is also very close.
A little further afield, but an easy trip, are many world-class beaches and gorgeous oceanside cliffs, the famous San Diego Zoo, and Old Town San Diego, with buildings dating back to 1769.

Family Silent Dance Party
We were supposed to see Frozen on night 5, but the show was cancelled so we took the boys and went to the Family Dance Party! Like I mentioned in my last video, Silent Dance parties are fun because you wear headphones that play music and everyone dances, but cant hear each others music. Its pretty entertaining.

San Diego Cruise Port is a fabulous place to start your cruise. The port of San Diego has expanded in recent years and now offers a great choice of cruises from a number of different cruise lines.
Here we explore your different options for San Diego cruise port hotels and parking.
Wyndham San Diego Bayside
The Wyndham San Diego Bayside is a very popular choice of hotel for those going on a Disney Cruise. You really cannot get any closer to the port. It is right across the street from the B Street Pier.
You will be able to walk across the street to the Disney Wonder in the morning!
Also, there is nothing quite like the feeling of being able to watch the Disney Wonder sail into the port on the morning you are about to embark. If you get one of the rooms overlooking the bay you will be able to see the ship arrive right out of your hotel room window.
The Wyndham San Diego is an older hotel. However, it has been recently renovated. Rooms are a decent size and have either a King or two Doubles.
One slight downside is that it does not have its own restaurant. However. there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and of course, you are about to have a huge Disney buffet lunch as soon as you get on the ship!
A Park N Go Packages is very popular. It starts at $284 a night. This includes parking for 7 days whilst you cruise. Note that if you do not opt for a cruise parking package, the standard parking rate is $32 per night.
This is pretty standard for the location as parking is expensive in downtown San Diego. If you are going to park at the Wyndham and then go on a cruise, definitely get the cruise parking package. Or leave the car at home!

Summer 2023 Disney Cruise Line Destinations
Disneys ships are going to move around a bit in 2023 as we expected. The Disney Dream is heading over to Europe while the Disney Wonder will spend the summer in Alaska. Touring The Disney Wonder
After returning to the ship, we stopped for lunch at Cabanas. I didnt notice until after I ate, that Cabanas was serving Fajitas that day, so if you make this stop on your cruise, dont miss out on the Fajitas!
My oldest went to the Vibe to hang out with his new friends, and my 7 year old wanted to go back to the kids club to play. My 12-year-old stayed with my husband and I while we went to explore more of the Wonder.

We stayed in San Diego the night before our cruise at our favorite hotel, the Best Western Island Palms on Shelter Island. I always recommend arriving in your port city the day before your cruise. I find it too risky to travel the day of embarkation.
We arrived at the port at about 11:00 am and dropped off our luggage. We were then directed to go across the street to the Wyndham hotel for our pre-cruise test.
We waited in the ballroom for about 25 minutes for our results. After being cleared, we headed back to the cruise terminal.
Going through customs took about 20 minutes, then we were ready to board the ship! Be prepared to give your name as you get on the ship so the crew members can announce your arrival.
After boarding, we headed to our assigned spot on Deck 4 to complete the mandatory safety drill.

For all my West Coasters looking to sail with Disney Cruise Line from a port close to home or for those Disney fans looking to do a land and sea vacation with a visit to DISNEYLAND and a Disney Cruise, you are in luck! Disney Cruise Line has just announced they will be extending their cruising season from San Diego beginning this Fall 2022.
Aboard the Disney Wonder, Guests will now be able to sail from San Diego from Fall 2022 through Spring 2023 on 3-, 4-, 5-, and 7-night sailings.

Guests on these cruises will sail to Baja, Mexico and Mexican Riviera. Depending on the itinerary, highlighted ports of call include Mazaltan, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Ensenada, and Catalina Island.
In addition to these beautiful ports of call, select sailings will also offer themed Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime cruises!
